It was the site of the marriage of Isaac, where God told Abraham to offer his son Isaac as a burnt offering. Abraham called that place after the L ORD provided a RAM to sacrifice instead of Isaac. "And Abraham called the name of that place, Lord will provide as it is today: on the Mount of the ORD L will be provided. " -Genesis 22:14
